Air Crash in East Stockwith Parish

In 2018 a farmer found an intact propeller from a  WW2 aircraft  The Council erected a memorial to the crew who all died.  This memorial has the renovated propeller set in stone with the crew’s names inscribed on it. The memorial is situated on Back Street.  The Council researched the crew and detailswere put into a booklet and a Memorial event was held with a Spitfire Flypast and a village tea.

Every year the Council host an Annual Remembrance Service for all who gave their lives in war from this village or who were sadly killed in the village.
